WHO’S NEWS: Residential appointments & promotions

Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced that the Sarah Zelermyer-Diaz and Marc Karavasian Team will be rejoining the firm following a brief stint at Compass.
One of Brooklyn’s top teams, led by Zelermyer-Diaz and Karavasian, the group also includes agents Karen Zelermyer, Jake Rabinbach, and Shana Saunders.
They will join Elliman’s Fulton Street office in Fort Greene Brooklyn, managed by Denise Joseph.

Sarah Zelermyer-Diaz bought her first property at the age of 23, after which she purchased and sold multiple personal properties in Crown Heights, Clinton Hill and Sunset Park. She became a real estate professional in 2006.
A native New Yorker, Marc Karavasian has called Park Slope his home for nearly 15 years.
After graduating from Colgate University, Marc pursued a number of opportunities that built the foundation for his real estate career, including seven-plus years of experience in high-end residential design and furnishings.
Karen Zelermyer has experience in marketing, communications, conflict resolution and negotiations. She takes pride in working with her daughter, Sarah Zelermyer-Diaz. She has also spent much of her life working to secure rights for women, children and LGBTQ people.
Jake Rabinbach has extensive knowledge of the city and has lived in North Brooklyn since 2002.
Before real estate, he was a successful touring musician and also worked in film production and development and as an event manager at a concert venue.
Shana Saunders earned a degree in Business Management and Finance from Brooklyn College and her previous work experience in non-profits, sales, and entertainment marketing have helped shape her real estate career.

Compass announced that Downtown specialist Eric Brown has joined.
He joins the firm from Douglas Elliman Real Estate where he was among the top performers in the firm’s Tribeca office, and earned the Rookie of the Year Award upon joining the company in 2013.
Brown launched his real estate career investing alongside his family.

Mirador Real Estate has hired Daniel Itingen as the firm’s Residential Leasing Director.
In this role Itingen will oversee the entire leasing department of Mirador Real Estate.
Itingen joins the firm with 11 years of real estate experience. Most recently he was the Head of Residential Leasing at Platinum Properties. Before that, he worked as an agent in DSA Realty and Douglas Elliman.
Itingen currently sits on REBNY’s Rental Committee.

Patricia Zaffino of Fox Residential Group has earned a Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) from the Real Estate Negotiation Institute (RENI).
The national accreditation requires the completion of a formal negotiation training course with curriculum focusing on effective communication with clients, collaboration, and resolution of deadlocks.
With over 56,000 real estate agents in the NYC boroughs, only an estimated 1,000 hold the CNE certification.

TOWN Residential has named Jennifer Regen, Agostina Muro and Charles Badalamenti as the managers overseeing the sales and leasing activities of the firm’s new Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg and Kaufman Astoria Studios locations.
Set to open January 2017, each of the three new locations – 195 Montague Street and 240 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, and 3537 36th Street in Astoria – will initially accommodate up to 20 local experts.
Jennifer Regen, Manager of TOWN Brooklyn Heights, has over 14 years of experience as a broker and over $200,000,000 in sales to her credit. She has worked extensively in Brooklyn over the last several years.
Regen studied Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University. She has previously served as Executive Director for the non-profit foundation The Common Good.
Agostina Muro, Manager of TOWN Williamsburg, has more than eight years of real estate and marketing expertise.

She formerly served as a leasing manager at Two Trees and leasing director for the lease up of the new development at 20 Exchange Place as well as two other prestigious downtown properties for the owner. She was previously Leasing Coordinator for Town’s 88 Greenwich Street offices.
Charles Badalamenti, Manager of TOWN Astoria/LIC, was born in, raised in Astoria. He is responsible for more than 50 transactions within the neighborhood alone.
His many accolades include the recent sale of a one condominium that was among the neighborhood’s first transactions to cross the $1000 per square foot threshold.
His experience also extends to the downtown Manhattan market, with an emphasis on the Financial District.

TOWN Residential announced that Dan Marrello has been named Managing Director of Leasing.
Based at TOWN Flatiron, he will additionally support the leasing activities of TOWN Fifth Avenue, TOWN Upper East Side and TOWN Financial District.
Marrello first joined TOWN in 2013 at leasing director. Before that, he was a Senior Managing Director at Citi Habitats.
He served as Chairman of the Rental Committee for the Real Estate Board of New York.
Drawing on more than a decade of sales and management experience and thousands of closed transactions, in his newly expanded role he will host bi-weekly leasing roundtables within the offices to provide insights into market trends and proven tips for expanding your leasing business.
He will also attend the offices’ weekly meetings and be available to provide expert deal-related support.

Houlihan Lawrence announced the appointment of Janet Kovacs as manager of its Irvington and Ardsley brokerage offices.
Kovacs has served almost four years as an agent in Irvington.

As manager, Kovacs will lead 49 agents.

TOWN Residential announced that Elaine Diratz has joined TOWN New Development as Managing Director, a title that will be shared with Shlomi Reuveni.

A longstanding member of the New York real estate community, Diratz is a seasoned sales and marketing executive with more than 25 years of condominium new development and conversion experience spanning all facets from pre-development planning, to the definition and deployment of marketing strategies, and the establishment of highly effective sales programs.
Diratz joins TOWN from Extell Marketing Group where she served as Senior Vice President.
Prior to Extell, Diratz served as Managing Director of Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group for 10 years.
Throughout her career, Diratz has held several high profile positions and made invaluable contributions to the success of the various organizations including Senior Vice President with The Trump Corporation.

Ying Jin, known as “Jessie,” is the newest licensed salesperson to join Homes By Mara Realty.
Previously, Jin was an agent with Godspeed Real Estate Inc. in Flushing, Queens.
She grew up in China before coming to the United States in 1996. Taking advantage of her Chinese heritage and bilingualism in Mandarin and English, she is using her new role to help Chinese home buyers and sellers.
Before entering the real estate arena, Jin worked in the travel industry for over 20 years as a manager at LLL International Travel.
She has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Bridgeport University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Beijing Light Industry College in China.
