WHO’S NEWS: New research manager at Avison Young; Rockefeller bolsters urban development division

Jeffrey L. Heller, Principal and Managing Director for the Avison Young New Jersey office, announced that Jason M. Bloom, Esq., an analytics and market data expert, has joined the firm as its new Research Manager.
Bloom will utilize his educational and professional background to produce New Jersey commercial real estate market reports as well as collect and organize data for the firm.

Bloom holds an MBA in Supply Chain Management from Rutgers University Business School and a Juris Doctorate in Law from Rutgers University School of Law, both located in Newark, NJ. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Yeshiva University in New York, NY.
He most recently served at the Silverman and Sardar LLP law firm in New York, NY, where he focused on research and the preparation of various lawsuits.
Previously, he held positions with other prominent companies including CBRE and JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Royal Properties, Inc. announced that Rick Stassa has joined their team as a commercial real estate broker. Stassa has been a licensed real estate commercial broker in New York since 1992.
He has worked with such national tenants as Raymour and Flanigan, Rainbow Apparel, Storage Deluxe and Popeye’s – Louisiana Kitchen. He also has completed numerous transactions with strong regional companies such as VIM, S@A stores and Praxis Housing Initiatives.
Rick is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, has an MBA from Fordham University and an undergraduate degree from Lafayette College.

The Rockefeller Group announced today that development and real estate capital markets executive Daniel J. Moore has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Head of Urban Development nationally.
Previously, Moore was a Managing Director at Hines Interests, L.P. responsible for the company’s new business development and equity capital relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
At The Rockefeller Group, Moore reports to the company’s Co-Presidents and CEOs, Dan Rashin and Tetsuya Masuda.
In his new position, he succeeds Rashin, who had been serving in dual capacities since being elevated to Co-CEO in January 2016.
As Head of Urban Development, Moore is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the company’s office, residential and mixed-use development portfolio.
Moore has spent the past 16 years with Hines in various positions of increasing authority in New York, Connecticut and Washington, D.C.
Prior to his most recent position, he was a Managing Director in the company’s Capital Markets Group.
Previously, he was Vice President with Hines U.S. Office Value Added Funds I & II.
Early in his career, he served as a Marketing and Leasing Manager for Hines in the company’s Fairfield County office, and he started his career as an Assistant Project Manager for the development of 745 Seventh Avenue in New York.
Prior to his career at Hines, Moore served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.
He holds an MBA from The Wharton School, with a dual major in Finance and Real Estate, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

AFC Realty Capital announced that Ivan Hernandez has rejoined the firm as Managing Director.
Hernandez has been involved in the sourcing and closing in excess of $200 million in senior debt and mezzanine debt for hotels and multifamily properties.
He brings over 15 years of experience in real estate financing and asset-based and corporate finance. He has developed over many years, strong relationships with hotel owners throughout the US. He brings to AFC and its clients valuable perspective and knowledge of the hotel industry and capital markets.

Andrea Santoni has joined Alfred Sanzari Enterprises as residential property manager.
Santoni will oversee the day-to-day operation of the firm’s residential property division, which encompasses approximately 500 garden-style and luxury units throughout Bergen County.
Santoni brings more than 10 years of diverse property management and real estate experience to the position, most recently as a property manager for one of the tristate area’s leading apartment management companies.
Previously, she was property manager for a luxury high-rise rental community in Fort Lee.
Santoni earned the CAM (Certified Apartment Manager) designation from the New Jersey Apartment Association.

John Arneth has joined First American Title Insurance Company as a sales and marketing representative in the company’s Direct Division.

He will be based in the company’s office at 16 Main Street West in Rochester, New York and will focus on providing customer service to First American’s attorney and lender partners in western New York.
Arneth is returning to the title insurance industry having served in branch management positions at multiple title agencies earlier in his career.
He has also served as the highway superintendent in the town of LeRoy, New York. Most recently, he was a sales manager for a New York-based building and construction materials provider.
Arneth holds an A.S. in Criminal Justice from Genesee Community College.

Columbia Property Trust announced that Kelly Lim has joined the company as Vice President, Eastern Region.
Lim will focus on the New York market, managing and maximizing the value of Columbia’s four existing New York assets, as well as sourcing and executing on new value-creating investment opportunities for Lim will join Columbia’s Eastern Region team, which currently manages 3.1 million square feet of office space spread among seven prestigious office properties in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Boston, and is led by Senior Vice President Adam Popper.
Lim has over 11 years of commercial real estate experience, the majority of which has been concentrated in the New York market.
Prior to joining Columbia, he spent over six years with Rockwood Capital. Earlier in his career, Lim worked at Clarion Partners, where he served in both acquisitions and asset management roles, and, prior to that, he served in the real estate advisory group at Duff & Phelps.
Lim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and is a CFA charterholder.

Heitman LLC announced that three new senior professionals have joined its Client Service and Marketing team.
Edward Rieger joins as Head of Global Consultant Relations, while Anne Westbrook has been named Senior Vice President, Client Service and Marketing.
Eugenie Dadachpour joins Heitman in a new position as Vice President, Client Service and Marketing.
Edward Rieger has more than 30 years of client service and sales experience and was most recently employed as Senior Vice President, Director of Consultant Relations at Cohen & Steers Capital Management with global oversight of consultant relationships.
He also held various roles at financial institutions where he focused primarily on managing relationships with institutional investors.
Rieger attended Fordham University, where he received a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Hamilton College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Anne Westbrook is responsible for promoting Heitman’s full suite of real estate investment solutions to the institutional investor community.
She brings more than 30 years of experience and most recently worked with Berkadia Commercial Mortgage as a Managing Director.
Her professional background also includes experience in capital raising and strategic planning, investor relations and marketing.
Westbrook received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Economics from Case Western Reserve University.
Appointed to the newly created London-based position of Vice President, Client Service and Marketing, Eugenie Dadachpour will be responsible for promoting Heitman’s hedge fund offering, Heitman Real Estate Opportunity Fund (HERO) .
Prior to joining Heitman, she was Head of Marketing and Investor Relations at Fenician Capital Management.
Eugenie obtained her Master of Business Administration from ESSEC Business School, her law degree from Université FACO and graduate degrees in International Business Law from ESSEC Business School and Université Paris V René Descartes.

Cignature Realty Associates has hired Michael Rahimzada as a sales broker focusing on multifamily investment sales.
Rahimzada received a bachelor’s degree in management, with a minor in accounting from Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business.

While attending college, Rahimzada gained business and real estate experience working for Cyweb Holdings Inc. and E Squared Capital Management, LLC.
At Cyweb Holdings, he worked as a marketing analyst for the Great Neck-based marketing and advertising firm, where he helped build a home-buying website. In addition, Rahimzada worked as a junior analyst at E Squared Capital Management, LLC., a New York-based investment firm, where he evaluated private and public companies.
Rahimzada has a New York State Real Estate Sales License and is proficient in Hebrew and conversational Persian.

SL Green Realty Corp announced that Paul Milunec has joined the company as Vice President within the leasing department.
He will oversee a portfolio of buildings including 280 Park Avenue, Tower 46, 10 East 53rd Street, Graybar Building and 328 West 34th Street. Additionally, he will participate on the in-house leasing team marketing the Company’s newest development, One Vanderbilt Avenue.
Milunec, a real estate veteran with more than 15 years of industry experience, was formerly a First Vice President in CBRE’s Midtown Manhattan office.
He won CBRE’s Market Information Leadership Award, 2008 through 2015 and was named Associate of the Year at GVA Williams in 2003.

Breaking Ground, New York City’s largest supportive housing developer and manager, announced that Nicholas Tsang has joined its Board of Directors.
Tsang is the owner and principal of High Line West, LLC, a real estate investment company that develops and operates multi-family housing and farmland in New York and New Jersey, and the owner of Manhattan Saddlery, the historic retailer of equestrian goods located in NYC’s Gramercy Park area.
Tsang has a long history of commitment to serving the homeless. He has been an Administrative Director at the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter and currently volunteers weekly with South Bronx United, a youth coaching organization.
