WHOʼS NEWS: Cole Schotz announces three new members

Cole Schotz P.C. announced that Emily M. Lamond, Eric S. Latzer and David T. Meglino have been elevated to members of the firm. The three new members are located across the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices.

Emily M. Lamond is a member of the Environmental Department and counsels on the practical implications of environmental liability risks.

She advises domestic and international clients from a wide range of industries and specializes in developing and implementing environmental risk mitigation and management strategies.
Lamond earned her J.D. and Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School and her B.A. from York College of PA.

Eric S. Latzer is a member of the Litigation Department and has handled matters in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels in New Jersey, New York, California, and Texas.

Latzer has also managed cases through alternative dispute resolution forums and represented individuals and multinational corporations alike.
Latzer earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from The College of New Jersey.

David T. Meglino, a member of the firm’s Construction Services and Litigation departments, has represented construction contractors in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including claims for breach of contract and other contractual claims; defense of delinquent contribution claims under ERISA and other claims brought by unions and their trust funds; lien/bond claims; and insurance matters, including declaratory judgment matters concerning the scope of insurance coverage.

Meglino earned his J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School and his B.S. from Hofstra University.

Daniel Hakimian has joined AssetCRG’s Investment Sales Division as an associate broker.
Having worked in the field since 2013, Hakimian was previously with Highcap Group and has closed over 25 deals throughout New York City. He specializes in all asset classes and has sold properties including mixed-use and retail development opportunities, multi-family and mixed-use buildings and commercial assets with retail components.

Hakimian holds a Bachelors of Business from Baruch College with a major in Real Estate Development.

Haynes and Boone, LLP announced the promotion to partnership of Daniel Lisk from the firm’s New York office.

Lisk is a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group in the New York office. He represents private equity and real estate funds, financial institutions, owner-operators and developers in a range of commercial real estate transactions, including debt and equity financings, construction financings, loan syndications, acquisitions and dispositions, workouts and restructurings.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Vassar College and his juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law.

Sidley Austin LLP announced that Steven Kolyer has joined the firm in New York as a partner in its Global Finance practice.

Formerly a partner with Clifford Chance LLP, Kolyer has a practice in securitizations, with a particular emphasis in collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). His CLO practice includes both corporate loan CLOs and commercial real estate CLOs (CRE CLOs).
He has extensive experience representing issuers, managers and arrangers in corporate loan

CLOs and in CRE CLOs, as well as in establishing debt investment funds and related financings. His experience includes conventional securities offerings, commercial lending transactions, and private fund structurings and formations as well as credit-linked and other derivative transactions.

Rosenberg & Estis, P.C. has named Daniel M. Bernstein as a Member to head the firm’s new Tax Incentive & Affordable Housing Department.

Bernstein, formerly Of Counsel to Rosenberg & Estis, will focus on the tax incentive programs and affordability requirements that are critical to New York City residential and commercial projects.

The announcement of this new department follows the firm’s recent creation of a Property Tax Department, Construction Department and Co-Op / Condominium Department.
Rosenberg & Estis attorneys are among the first in New York to represent clients seeking benefits under the new 421-a(16) program, including compliance with the new 421-a(16) program’s construction wage requirements.

The firm also assists clients on the combination of the benefits from the 421-a(16) program and the inclusionary housing program, enabling developers to secure property tax exemptions and additional development rights through the same affordable units.
