Newmarkʼs Matt Duthie is IREM Person of Year

The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management announced that it has selected Matt Duthie, regional director of management services at Newmark Knight Frank, as Real Estate Person of the Year.

The recognition honors his exceptional accomplishments, including his leadership, dedication, commitment and service to the real estate industry throughout the course of his career.

Duthie will be honored at the organization’s annual dinner & awards on Thursday, February 7, at 230 FIFTH in NYC. The event is ponsored by IREM Industry Partners Durnan Group Managers; JAD Building Maintenance Supplies and Total Fire Protection.

Duthie has more than 32 years of commercial real estate management experience. He is responsible for the oversight and growth of Newmark Knight Frank’s management portfolio in New York. He is also responsible for business development to maximize market share and profitability for the region.

He previously served as a managing director at Jones Lang LaSalle; an executive vice president at Ruben Companies and senior vice president, co-director of Reckson Associates’ Manhattan division.

Duthie is a member and former chairman of the board of directors, Real Estate Board of New York, an officer and member of the board of directors, Building Owners and Managers Association International; a member of the board of directors, Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations and vice president, member of the board of directors, New York Energy Consumer Council.

The evening’s other honorees include Erin Leahy, CPM, Certified Property Manager of the Year Cushman & Wakefield;

Accredited Management Organization of the Year Related Management Company;
Industry Partner of the Year JAD Building Maintenance Supplies; Humanitarian of the Year Daniel Durante, ARM, RY Management, for his decades of dedication and volunteerism.
