The designer and manufacturer of bridesmaid and occasion dresses will occupy the entire fourth floor of the Garment District building by spring 2016.

Andy Udis and Ron Zimmerman of ABS Partners Real Estate represented the landlord, Fraglow Realty, in the transaction. Asking rent was $54 per square foot.

“8 West 38th Street offered Dessy Group the opportunity to move from Chelsea to the Garment District, where its showroom and executive offices will be closer to like-minded tenants,” said Udis, a partner at ABS Partners.

“Dessy will be in the company of other fashion designers and wholesalers located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, which is convenient for both customers and vendors. The new location is also short walk in either director to Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station, giving Dessy employees an easier commute.”

Zimmerman, an executive managing director at ABS Partners, added, “The Dessy Group is a family business that started in 1939 and is now run by the third generation. The company was attracted to the building because of the modern, full-floor space it had available and because the owner, Fraglow Realty, is also a family-run business dedicated to the satisfaction of its customers.”

8 West 38th Street is a 12-story pre-war building constructed in 1914. Other tenants include Ratti USA, LongTail Ad Solutions.
