DONE DEALS: Big catch in Rye

Douglas Elliman Real Estate’s Nancy Strong and Stacey Oestreich have sold 408 Grace Church Street in Rye, NY, for $12.75 million.

Celebrities, sport stars and international buyers were circling the waterfront estate located on 4.54 acres on a protected inlet on the Long Island Sound.

The buyer, according to the brokers, was ultimately a local family which purchased under an LLC.

The estate includes a private peninsula which can dock two boats, indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court and a fitness room.

The 10,441 s/f six-bedroom, six-bathroom home was designed by architects Shope, Reno Wharton. The living room features a fireplace with a 300-year old imported marble fireplace surround.

The formal dining room includes a 22-foot long glass wall looking into the temperature controlled wine room.

The buyer was represented by Ellen Stern from Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s.
